Overlaps withIISM & Surabaya Cold Chain Expo 2026
ConnectChains is a single-day conference convened by the Logistics Hall of Fame, now in its fourth edition, at the Vienna Airport Conference & Innovation Center. It pairs commercial logistics providers with humanitarian and development-aid organisations for knowledge transfer, with the 2026 programme centred on the use of artificial intelligence in humanitarian logistics. The Lynn C. Fritz Medal for humanitarian logistics is awarded at the event.
Humanitarian supply chains move vaccines, blood and temperature-sensitive medicines into constrained environments, so the certification, AI-routing and pharmaceutical-policy items on the agenda bear directly on medical cold chain execution. It is one of the few venues where the NGOs that specify cold chain requirements sit alongside the commercial carriers, packaging and monitoring vendors that fulfil them.
The room is senior logistics and supply-chain leaders from humanitarian and development organisations — Fritz Institute, International Rescue Committee, Oxfam — plus academics from Wageningen and Purdue and commercial logistics representatives. Seniority runs to head-of-logistics and chief-supply-chain-officer level. Attendance is by complimentary ticket for the humanitarian/development-aid target group.
